Naturally Pure Chocolate

K'Kao is an independent bean-to bar-chocolate maker, HACCP Approved. We are a proud family-owned manufacturer and are located in Sumner, Queensland, Australia.

We ethically source our cacao beans from the volcanic valleys of northern Papua New Guinea. We produce chocolates using traditional techniques to preserve the rich nutritional value and full flavour the cacao bean. Our chocolates are paired with natural ingredients to produce complementary flavour combinations, such as freeze dried fruits, roasted nuts and spices. You won't find any nasty preservatives or additives in our chocolates.

Taste The Difference

Not all chocolates are created equal! Not only are we award winning, bean-to-bar, craft chocolatiers, we can also boast to having a delicious, nutritious range of single source chocolate that caters to every palate and dietary requirement. That includes gluten-free, sugar-free, soy-free, dairy-free, and Vegan chocolates.

Ethically Sourced

We ethically source our cacao beans from Papua New Guinea, ensuring a viable future for the cacao farmers. Our ethical approach directly impacts Papua New Guinea's economy and the cacao farmers sustainability.

Slowly Roasted

We roast our cocoa beans at a low temperature to minimise chemical and physical changes and reduce bitterness. This preserves the full flavour and rich nutritional value of our cocoa beans.

Made From Scratch

We use traditional chocolate-making methods and each step of our chocolate making process is carefully controlled and inspected to produce delicious, high quality, and nutritious chocolate.

All Natural Ingredients

Our single source, bean-to-bar chocolate is free from preservatives and additives. We only use natural ingredients to produce complementary flavour combinations, such as freeze dried fruits, roasted nuts and spices.

Award Winning Chocolate

17 Rocks Chocolate has been honoured with 4 awards at the Artisan Chocolate Awards in San Francisco 2020. The competition is judged by national and regional magazines, newspaper and blog editors, topic experts, local chefs, and food gurus. The chocolates are then ranked under a handful of categories

17 Rocks Chocolate is extremely excited to announce our 85% Dark Chocolate Bar won GOLD as did our 70% Dark Hot Chocolate. And much to our delight we were also awarded for Silver for our Milk Caramel Hot Chocolate and Bronze for our 45% Milk Chocolate Bar in the ‘BEST MILK CHOCOLATE BAR' category!

Mark and Annette Muller started their chocolate making journey with a desire to restore chocolate’s reputation and celebrate it as a highly nutritional food source. They started making chocolate from scratch leaving behind additives and substitutes, only using wholefoods.
